Yurine and The Karas

I watched Karas yesterday for like the 5th time.  It’s a really good OVA that took over 2 years to complete. The first time I watched Karas I went online to gather all the information that I could.  Needless to say I was sorely disappointed when I came up empty handed.  Not only is there limited info available about the series, there is nearly nothing about my favorite character Yurine.
Karas, for those who haven’t seen it, is a story about futuristic superheros in a fictional Japan.  Each city has a Karas appointed to it that will appear whenever the equalibrium between the spirit world and ours is broken.  The karas of interest here is Otoha of Shinjuku.  Once a member of the yakuza as the new karas he is in constant battle with Eko, the karas before him.  With the help of mikuras, yokai infused with some sort of machinery, Eko begins to reck hovic on Shinjuku.  What ties all karas together is Yurine.

In the anime Yurine is the physical form of a city’s will.  It would be safe to assume that Japan as a whole has a Yurine and these “smaller” Yurines are also a part of the same deity.  Each city’s Yurine has a pair of oversized goggles set atop her head with different eye designs.

That’s about all I can give you.  Nothing, right?  Aside from the few photos that I did find there’s nothing out there.  I think taking 2 years to complete the series in the end killed whatever buzz it had going.  after the first three episodes I totally forgot until I ran across the rest on animecrazy.  I wish that GSC would make a Yurine figure.  That would be awesome.
